Usually our participants were young researches and people with a particular interest to cross cultural experience. We organised about 20 expeditions with people from France, Italy Slovenia, Spain, Finland, Holland, Canada, Australia. From 2009 we took part in a project of research and developement into the art of feltmaking in Altai. With local association ''Orion" we organised international conference, meeting and courses to improve the knowledge and the appeal of this traditional craft, which was nearly forgotten, during the Soviet period.

Projects

Voyage to the Heart of snow leopard country Republic Tuva 2017

Participation in Snow leopard (Irbis) and Argali monitoring project in Siberian Altai.
Currently, monitoring of irbis with photo-traps is being carried out with the help of WWF of Russia and WWF of Mongolia simultaneously in the south part of Chikhachev's Ridge in Tuva Republic and in Mongolia. The goal of this research is to study the trans-border group of 10-15 irbises, which is crucial for preserving the species. You are welcomed to participate in the recording procedure of Altai Argali and Snow Leopard (Irbis) under the guidance of the Nature Reserve scientific and labour personnel during July -September 2017 period in a small group of 2-4 people. The field work will be undertaken in a remote places of Siberia at 2300-3500 m elevation and will afford to combine cognitive and scientific interests with the ambitious drive to test themselves in a complete wilderness of Altai-Tuva mountains.
The special feature of the project is that we are striving to involve the local population in protecting the spotty predator.. That means, first and foremost, sheep-herders of the high mountain districts of Tuva, who pasture their livestock in the snow leopard habitat.
Irbis attacks are the problems for the herders, when the animal would invade into a koshara (roofed barn for sheep) through a round ventilation opening in the roof and could kill several dozen animals.
The goal is to figure out a system of encouraging the herders to protect the snow leopard. The 10 % of expedition costs will help to cover the livestock losses of local population caused by the predator.
